June Recap!

This month has been so crazy but so exciting!

We got so lucky to participate in so many great events this month like Sustainable Saturdays, VTGCLT, a Charlotte Storytellers Event, The Gordon Street Flea Market, and even a few weddings! Here's a little recap of those events and info on another business that we LOVE to work with! YAY for a new bakery blog

Check out our new "weddings" page for info on how to book us for your big day!!! We just updated it so you can more easily understand the wedding booking process.

Sustainable Saturdays
Every Saturday, 9am to noon
Pure Pizza, 1911 Central Ave

Pure Pizza's Sustainable Saturday has really become a second home for us. Owner, Juli, and market manager, Leslie, have done an amazing job curating all Charlotte's hottest up and coming businesses in one place every single week! How awesome is that?! Each Saturday we get to work alongside the living form of mother earth, Pat Farrell, as she slings all the ripe and delicious produce from Central Food Hub to eager and excited patrons. Coffee is always available through Elderly Coffee, pets treats from Pet Wants, jewelry from a rotating cast of talents such as Purple Girl Designs, Lavender Star Designs, and Rise Over Run and then my personal favorite- sweetest AJ is there every week with Viva Raw's adorably functional TUK TUK (<--- click the link to see a photo!) selling all the freshest, most beautifully amazing cold pressed juices. SO INSANE. How could we not want to do this market every week? Its home!

If you haven't had the chance to make it out yet, you gotta mark your calendars and join us this July! Every week, y'all!

What's our menu like on Saturdays?

We normally offer an array of doughnuts, cookies, and cupcakes. Sometimes hand pies or slices of tarts! As the weather cools down later this year we'll begin offering cake by the slice. Everything is $3 individually or 2 for $5.

VTGCLT
Annual Event, 10am to 6pm
Goodyear Arts Building

This was by far the most jam packed event we've ever taken part in! There were OVER 3,000 shoppers throughout the day. Amy Herman, coordinator and Charlotte extraordinaire did an insane job with booking this market. VTGCLT has been going on for a few years now and we feel so lucky to have gotten the chance to join in on the exclusive day full of Charlotte's most seasoned and experienced entrepreneurs. We brought over 30 dozen goods and walked away SOLD OUT by 3pm. It was crazy. This market was especially important because we took a shift in where we donated our weekly 15%. In the weekend following VTGCLT, a neighbor of mine had a family member pass away but we were able to donate over $130 plus our whole tip jar from the day to help with the funeral costs. This was the first time that we were able to see and feel the impact that our weekly donations have on the lives of the people we call our community. We also debuted our brand new glass pastry case this weekend! It was perfect for keeping SO many goods fresh throughout the day. We wouldn't have been able to make this purchase without the contributions made during our Indiegogo Campaign. SO THANK YOU THANK YOU. It'll be used on it's own for now and will be put in our Tiny House Baby Bakery once that's built!

Gordon Street Flea Market
Monthly Event, 2pm to 5pm
Snug Harbor

Snug Harbor is my favorite bar in all of the land! So, when owner, Kelly, came to me and told me that her and Garland West of Avant Garland were organizing a monthly handmade market I was jumping with joy at the opportunity to hang out, sell my baked goods, and drink it up with the best bartenders in town every month! Each month Garland takes so much time and effort to truly organize and book. She's pretty much the greatest event coordinator that I know and if you're reading this- looking for help with your own markets, HIT HER UP! At the Gordon Street Flea Market we get to work alongside vendors that we normally wouldn't which is amazing because who doesn't love to meet new makers?! So many FRESH, fun faces so happy to be there with their businesses. I wish this market were more often but once a month will do for now!

Who's There Though?

Avant Garland, Cat Babbie Makes, Crowned Sparrow Co, Dearborn Drive, Fantastic Face Factory, Gandacrafts, Golden Elephant, Its the Fuzz, Mo's Arts & Crafts, Originate Handcrafted Jewelry, Personified Critters, Purple Girl Designs, Pushwater Coffee, The Dumpling Lady, The Gâteau Baking Co., and King of Pops!

The next market is July 3rd!

A VENDOR WE LOVE

Pushwater Coffee

These coffee babes KNOW their coffee! Every event we work together I'm constantly amazed by how professional their set up looks, how amazing their branding is, how they always have good attitudes, and how yummy their nitro cold brew coffee is! Can you believe they just launched in March? LIKE WHAT?! If you're looking to get your event catered, buy some beans, or just want to hang out with some cool dudes- I recommend them!
Here's how you can stalk them and swoon:
